This was my second appointment at the Mountain Centre for Healing. Some positive things have been happening. I'm finding it easy to keep my weight off! I'm back into prepregnancy clothing and then some!
My body is definitely changing. Some things seem to be a little off as well. First of all, my mentrual cycle is strange. I was supposed to get it and it is usually pretty heavy. This time (if indeed it was a cycle) it was merely a VERY slow trickle. I have also had some achy joints. This did not start happening a week or so after my second appointment though. I have also been quite tired in the morning, but I seem to get through the day without feeling too lethargic. Lastly, my skin seems to be more oily. I was getting rough patchy spots on my hands and those are now gone! I'm taking that as a good sign indeed.
My supplements: Not much changed from my first appointment. I was able to take fewer Zinc Liver Chelate as well as my bioflavinoid (Echinacea-C). I also had an appointment to see my Doc for an Armour prescription. He said he would write it up and fax it over, but I still had to call and remind him (rather his nurse) to get it put in. So as of today, I don't have it, but the Good Day Pharmacy in Loveland has Armour and they are able to compound doses since it is rather hard to find these days. The Armour thyroid supplement should help with many issues. It should help my breastmilk production stay up while my daughter just now is transitioning to some food. It should also help regulate other functions in my body. I'm really looking forward to this change!
Lastly, she asked me if I had any other concerns. My main concern recently was my chronic sinus headaches. They usually occur when there is a pressure change, which seems to be a lot where I live. And they usually happen at nighttime. She figured out that I was deficient in sodium, so her "presciption" was to take almsot a 1/2 teaspoon of course celtic sea salt orally on an empty stomach. I put the salt as far back on my tongue (to eliminate gagging) and then swallow about 4 oz. of water. It really seems to be helping!
I also asked her about my concerns about Thanksgiving this year. As of now, I still can't have turkey, wheat, dairy, citrus, and soy products. She suggested I offer to make the mashed potatoes with butter and coconut milk. She said there were so amazing! I will also try to make a pumpkin pie that I can eat as well. I love whipped cream, but that is out for now...I'm retraining myself in how I buy food, cook meals and eat snacks.
I really try hard every day to abstain from the foods I should not eat now. It's hard since I love pizza, and cheese of any kind! I never purposefully cheat, but sometimes I find an ingredient in something I should not have had. I know it will be good for me and I'm trusting that this will help to heal my thyroid! Thank you Mountain Centre for all you have done so far. I look forward to more! :)
