Kale Chips - awesome! fun snack! kidz love it!
Info: Kale is a tremendously healthy dark leafy green veggie that is also cruciferous.
Ingredients:1 bunch of kale, destemmed and torn into bite size pieces (1" - 2")
2 T olive oil
salt (Morton Lite is best if you care about your electrolytes) (1/4 - 1/2 t)
onion powder (1/4 - 1/2 t)
garlic powder (1/4 - 1/2 t)
Preheat oven to 350. You will need two trays. Place kale in very large bowl and add olive oil. Toss well to thoroughly coat, or use your fingers to get olive oil on all surfaces of the kale. Sprinkle with salt, etc. Toss some more. Spread on trays in single layer. Place in oven. Take out of oven periodically and toss / mix using spatula so drying occurs evenly and to prevent any burning. I usually do this at 4 minutes, and then every 2 minutes after that, and every minute after 8, for a total of 8 - 10 minutes. They are done when they are light and crispy, but not burnt or brown. They should practically melt in your mouth. Kids have eaten this who don't eat veggies!
I haven't yet tried this, but it came from a friend!
